About Us

Humane Society of Houston County, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the citizens and animals of Houston County, Georgia. Our volunteers work tirelessly to educate the public on the importance of spaying & neutering, microchipping and responsible pet care. Humane Society Houston County serves the Houston County area including Warner Robins, Perry, Centerville, Bonaire, and Kathleen covering more than 376.75 square miles.

We want nothing more than to save as many homeless animals as we can and find them wonderful forever families. We rely entirely on private donations, self-generated income (adoption and receiving fees), foundations, and corporations for all funding. Humane Society Houston County is not a branch of any national organization, such as the Humane Society of the United States, nor do we receive funds from any city, county, state or federal source. Every cent goes directly to helping our animals, many of whom have special needs and therefore have additional veterinary expenses.

Two weeks ago, my husband and I had the good fortune to discover this wonderful rescue organization and adopt a dog from them. In our experience the staff and volunteers are fantastic, the animals are loved and well cared for, and the adoption process is handled with the utmost care to ensure a smooth and positive transition for all involved. This is a terrific place to find a companion animal who needs, loves, and appreciates you beyond words.

Amazing shelter full of loving individuals that only want the best for each animal. My husband and I visited them this past Saturday and loved how professional and personal they were with us, all while answering questions and caring for the four-legged babies. Keep up the great work!!

Love this group of amazing people! We found our sweet dog Turbo here. The staff of volunteers are always willing to help you find the perfect pet for your family. Ms. Dawn and Ms. Dee are the kindest people I know.

We went to meet a special little furry friend last Saturday. Jessica was there to help and she was warm and kind and knowledgeable. After putting in our application Dawn, the adoption coordinator, got back to us quickly and professionally. All the animals seemed happy and peaceful and the place was packed with happy pet parents and parents to be. I definitely recommend.
